Absence Request
We are pleased to share that
the Twin Valley School District has implemented a new way to submit absent
requests.
What is this new tool?
The tool we have implemented to handle this process is called Absence Request.
Beginning in the 2022-2023 school year, parents/guardians can use the Absence Request tool to submit a request
that informs the office in advance of when their student is not going to be in
school. After the request is processed, Infinite Campus creates an attendance
record for the student.
Do I need to submit an excuse form?
If you submit an electronic request through the Absence Request tool, you do not need to submit an excuse form. However, handwritten excuse forms will still be accepted if you choose not to submit absences electronically.
When does a guardian need to provide a written excuse?
When your child has been absence for more than 3 days and doctor's notes are required for all early dismissal or late arrivals, such as appointments.
- MEDICAL/DENTAL APPOINTMENTS are considered unexcused without a note from the doctor's office.
How can
you submit a request?
Click here to view the directions on how to use the Absence Request tool.
We hope that this new tool streamlines the attendance reporting process. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact your building attendance secretary.
If you have any additional questions regarding TVSD Policy 204 on Attendance, please review the District Policies at https://www.tvsd.org/school-board/policies and https://www.tvsd.org/about-us/attendance.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the building attendance secretary.
